A Son's Duty is written by Hitomi Ichinohei and began online publication on July 26th, 1995.[1] It currently stands incomplete at seven chapters, the most recent of which was published on January 14th, 1997.[2]

“ Ukyou's father is going to visit. He wants to marry Ukyou off (to a girl) Ukyou isn't too keen on this. Ranma's mom is also visiting, so Ranma is Ranko for the time being. Akane hatches a plan and sets Ranko up with Ukyo for a date. Nodoka gets involved and starts prettying Ranko up...[3] ”
