James A. Bateman, also writing as Zen, is the author of six works of Ranma ½ fan fiction. Bateman is a major proponent of Ranma-Ukyo matchups, and most of his work either portrays this relationship in a happy light or competing ones (notably Ranma-Akane) as ending disastrously.
