A woman lies on her bed reading a book by moonlight when a piglet steals into her room. She expresses that she was worried for the piglet and offers it hot water, which when poured onto the piglet turns it into a very naked Ryoga Hibiki. He asks her where "you know" is and she tells him that the person in question is off on a training trip. They tell each other how much they love each other and how she tried to make it work with "you know", but that he was only interested in training and food. They agree to marry, but she suggests getting the paperwork done correctly before "you know" returns later in the week. This includes leaving a note for her family to let them know where she has gone and with whom. Ranma Saotome returns home from his training trip happy to see Akane Tendo, but when he arrives at the Tendo Dojo, she isn't home. He finds a note on his bedroom door where the woman explains that she doesn't love him anymore. Going back downstairs he encounters Kasumi Tendo who gives him another note which is address to the family as a whole and explains that the man in question is Ryoga. Ranma slumps to the floor believing Akane has eloped with Ryoga when the girl in question walks into the room. Ranma clumsily expresses his relief that Akane hasn't eloped with Ryoga, but then asks who has. It turns out that his mother has run away with Ryoga, which makes him Ranma's new step-father according to Akane. This revelation prompts Ranma to faint.
