Relatively Absent is written by Mark Shurtleff and began online publication February 19th, 2003.[1] It currently stands incomplete at a prologue and 11 chapters, the most recent of which was published on August 13th, 2004.[2]

The battle at Horai-san ended in disaster for Ranma when Herb's final defence shattered the mountain, burying Ranma deep in the rubble. Meanwhile an ancient artifact has lost it's guardian and must search for another. It finds one in an almost dead and buried girl. With the artifacts help, Ranma survives, but what of her now. Trapped as a girl and bonded to an ancient artifact, her life is definitely going to be different. At least she gets some unexpected help from her mothers family...[3]

When Mark Shurtleff closed his website Gaijins Realm in 2009, he stated on his blog that "I specifically do not want my incomplete stories to be made available elsewhere. If you have archived any of my stories, please delete them from your site. In addition, I specifically do not want any of my stories to be continued or expanded by another author."[5] As such, no known copy of Relatively Absent exists online.
